Our Favorite Skincare DUO

Our Favorite Skincare DUO

It is no secret that at Sue’s Botanicals we love us some tallow for all things skincare (read our ODE to tallow here) and we will continue to sing its praises all the livelong day, BUT we have something #NEW to share with you all. This “new” ingredient, when paired with tallow, takes skin health and appearance to the NEXT LEVEL! Are you curious? Read on friend 👉👉👉

But first, just a few highlights about why we love tallow for skincare:

💜 helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, locking in moisture by forming a protective barrier over the skin. Who else loves the idea of less noticeable wrinkles?!  🙌🙌🙌

💜 inflammation reduction properties thanks to the fatty acids that are naturally occurring in tallow #eczema #psoriasis #redness #relief HALLELUJAH!

💜tallow is very close to our naturally sebum so it absorbs quickly and deeply. #hydrated skin is #younger-looking #skin! BOOM!

I don’t know about you, but these are all things that I need help with, especially as I am aging!

So what could possibly make tallow even more EFFECTIVE?! So glad you asked…

DRUMROLL PLEASE 🥁🥁🥁

Say HELLO to our “NEW” friend…

So what is hyaluronic acid anyway?

Merriam-Webster defines it this way:
hy·al·uron·ic acid ˌhī(-ə)l-yu̇-ˈrä-nik

: a viscous glycosaminoglycan chiefly of the matrix of tissues that occurs especially in the vitreous humor, umbilical cord, synovial fluid, and loose connective tissue and serves especially as a structural element and lubricant.

Does that make sense to you?! 😂😂😂

If you need the layman's version like I do WE GOT YOU GIRL👇👇👇

The above simply means hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body and attracts and retains large amounts of water.

PHEW! Much easier for my perimenopausal brain to decode.

So why is this important?! When your skin is hydrated it is healthier AND healthier looking. Moisture helps to plump up the skin.  And who does not love that youthful, plump skin that we love so much in babies?! #chubbybabycheeks For those of us that are older, that means fine lines and wrinkles will be less noticeable. Hyaluronic acid also helps with skin elasticity. It is suitable for all skin types and is not known to have any adverse reactions with any other skincare products. #heckyes! I don’t know about you but peri-menopause is like second puberty! Everything is a-changin’! So hearing HA is welcome for all skin types is GOOD NEWS! 🤣😂🤣It feels like mine is changing by the minute some days!

Why should I supplement Hyaluronic Acid if it is naturally in my body?

That is an EXCELLENT question my friend!

Thanks so much for asking.

Studies show that Hyaluronic Acid production slows down as we age.

This is one of the reasons we can go from that youthful glow to sagging, dull skin as we get older.

Enter the choice to supplement.

If you would like to get that #firm look and #elasticity back, Hyaluronic acid is a great place to start. Moisture is key to that #supple, soft look and #feel of our skin and Hyaluronic Acid DELIVERS just that!

But, if you ask us, this is not the place to STOP…

Why should I use both Tallow and Hyaluronic Acid? Can’t I just use ONE of them?

While you can choose to use just Tallow products or Hyaluronic Acid products alone, we urge you to consider the benefits of using them together. As we have mentioned above, Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant, meaning it attracts and helps to retain moisture. SUPER AWESOME, right? BUT when you add Tallow into your skincare routine it creates a barrier to seal that moisture in!

UMMM, YES PLEASE!!!!!!

It is not good enough to just attract the moisture, we need a way to KEEP IT THERE!

And this MY FRIENDS is why we LOVE the dynamic duo of Hyaluronic Acid and Tallow.

Here is a table to s the reasons we LOVE this DREAM TEAM for skincare:

Hyaluronic Acid

Tallow

Attracts moisture

Creates a Barrier to LOCK IN moisture

LOW comedogenic, not likely to clog pores when used appropriately.

Does not cause irritation and safe for sensitive skin

Calms inflammation

Light weight, follow up with moisturizer to lock in results

When you see this table you can see how each product DIFFERS yet COMPLIMENTS one another.

This equals a HUGE WIN for YOUR SKIN! 👏👏👏
